Matoaca baseball, golf, and basketball athlete Sam Smith committed to Richard Bland College to play golf. Smith, a 2013 5A Golf State Champion will be a part of the Statesmen’s inaugural golf team in the fall. He joins Matthew Padgett as a recent Matoaca golf alum to ascend to the next level in the sport. Padgett is a rising sophomore at Bridgewater. In terms of baseball, Smith has been an All-Conference shortstop and was a three-point specialist for the Warriors’ basketball team off the bench this past winter.
