Crime of the Week

The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program is asking for your help this week to solve a shooting case.

On the evening of Friday, March 13, a resident in the 5600 block of Handel Court threw a party that lasted into the early morning hours. As the party was winding down, a small group of males came to the party and caused problems for the rest of the party-goers. Eventually, just before 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, one of the home’s residents told everyone to leave. The small group of males who had crashed the party instigated a fight, and, during the fight, shots were fired. Two people inside the residence were struck. Though gunfire continued outside the home, no one else was injured.

The shooter was a black male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing all dark-colored clothing and a baseball cap. For more information on this case, please visit the Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers website, www.crimesolvers.net, and click on the “Crime of the Week” link.
