The Chesterfield County Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded late Friday, July 17, at 11:52 p.m., to the 10300 block of Elokomin Ave for the report of a house fire. Fire crews arrived to find heavy fire coming from a window on the side of the house. It took crews approximately 20 minutes to get the fire under control. Fire damage was contained to one room of the house, but the house did sustain smoke damage throughout. One occupant was pulled out of a ground floor window by a responding police officer prior to the fire department’s arrival. The occupant was not injured.

Fire marshals determined the fire started in the living room. Fire marshals and police worked collaboratively on the investigation and determined the cause of the fire to be arson.

Timothy Alan Pearson, Jr., 23, of Chesterfield, was arrested and charged with arson. He is currently being held at the Chesterfield County Jail pending a bond hearing.
