Chesterfield ready for General Election

A General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, for:

  1. Virginia Senate;
  2. Virginia House of Delegates;
  3. Clerk of Court, Commonwealth’s Attorney, Sheriff, Commissioner of Revenue, Treasurer, and Soil/Water Director James River District;
  4. Board of Supervisors; and
  5. School Board.

The polls will be open from 6 a.m to 7 p.m. The Registrar’s Office is located at 9848 Lori Rd. (in Court Square) and is open 8:30 a.m. to 5p.m., Monday through Friday for voter registration and absentee voting.

According to Chesterfield Registrar Lawrence Haake, the final day to register to vote is Tuesday, October 13, 2015.

In-person absentee voting will be available at the Registrar’s office from September 18, 2015, through October 31, 2015. All mailed absentee ballots must be received back in the Registrar’s Office before 7 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, 2015. Other important dates:

Tuesday, October 27, 2015 – Final day to submit a request for an absentee ballot by mail.

Saturday, October 24, 2015 and Saturday October 31, 2015 the Registrar’s office will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for in-person absentee voting.

October 31 is the FINAL day to vote absentee in-person. The Electoral Board will meet in the Office of the General Registrar on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. for the canvass of the election.
