Over the years, Zach has successfully worked with teachers, students and parents providing many positive benefits such as sensory stimulation, encouragement, calming students’ behavior and encouraging student achievement. Zach  worked as a motivator for classroom instruction across the curriculum assisting in math, reading, science, life and vocational skills.

Activities such as measuring his food, counting dog biscuits, and measuring his height and weight improved math and measurement skills. In addition to classroom duties, Zach served as the Medford League varsity basketball team mascot, attended six Matoaca High School graduations in his custom cap and gown and danced the night away at prom in proper formal attire. He is well known throughout the school community and loved by all.

Zach’s retirement plans include: puppy power raps, playing fetch, walks in the woods, swimming in the bay and sunning himself on the beach. Zach will be missed by the Matoaca Exceptional Education Department and all  Matoaca High community members. Best wishes to Zach for a long, well deserved retirement.
