Henricus Historical Park hosted the inaugural Hops in the Park Harvest Festival last Saturday. With approximately 3,500 attendees and proceeds going to support the children’s education fund at Henricus and the Old Dominion Hops Cooperative.

Organizers and festival goers are calling this harvest festival a great success.

“The inaugural event featured over 30 Virginia-produced drinks made by over 15 different Virginia-based breweries, cideries, meaderies, and wineries across the region.” said Henricus Executive Director Charlie Grant. “Additionally, ten vendors from the Virginia Grown Farmer’s Market showcased their goods and some of Richmond’s favorite food trucks peddled their best offerings. It was an incredible endeavor made by many.”

In addition to sponsors Virginia Department of Agriculture and Forestry, WestRock, The Old Dominion Hops Cooperative, and Capital Ale house, festival hosts, Chesterfield Economic Development and the Henricus Foundation, attribute their success to Virginia farmers, manufacturers, and consumers of food and drink made in and from the soils and waters of the Commonwealth.
