Chesterfield County has the opportunity to have a young ladies soccer team and athletes from swimming, track, gymnastics and tennis represent Chesterfield and the United States in the International Children’s Games. Chesterfield is one of the first two cities from the entire United States to be invited to the 2016 International Children’s Games (ICG) by the Mayor of New Taipei City, Taiwan. Eighty cities from 40 different countries will join together for a cultural exchange and mini-Olympics for 12-15 year olds, which is sanctioned and supported by the International Olympic Committee. The 2016 ICG will be held in New Taipei City in July 9 trough 17. In order for a U.S. athlete to participate in the ICG he or she would register through the delegations in Cleveland, Ohio or Chesterfield.

Registration closes in January or when the 18 team positions are filled, whichever comes first.
