More than 4,300 students to graduate June 9-13 from CCPS

More than 4,300 Chesterfield students will receive their high school diplomas during graduation ceremonies June 9 through June 13 at VCU’s Siegel Center, 1200 W. Broad St.

Graduates and their families are invited to share their best graduation photos via Facebook and Twitter with Chesterfield County Public Schools. Just use the hashtag #ccps16 when you post or tweet and be sure to include the name of your high school.

This will be the last Chesterfield County Public Schools graduation for Superintendent Marcus Newsome, who will become Petersburg’s superintendent on July 1. This is also the final graduation for two retiring principals:

Manchester High Principal Pete Koste has worked 39 years in Chesterfield County Public Schools; this is his 23rd graduation as Manchester High principal. His first graduation was for the class of 1994.

Cosby High Principal Brenda Mayo has worked 18 years in Chesterfield County Public Schools. This is Dr. Mayo’s ninth graduation as Cosby High principal; before moving to Cosby High, she oversaw six graduation ceremonies as principal of Clover Hill High.

Tickets are required to attend graduation, but the ceremonies will be streamed live online at http://vcuathletics.tv/flash/ramradio.php and will be shown live on Comcast Channel 96. Also, each graduation will be re-broadcast exactly two weeks later on Comcast Channel 96 and on Verizon Channel 26.

Here is the schedule of graduations:

  • Thomas Dale High students will graduate at 10 a.m. June 9. The ceremony will replay at 10 a.m. June 23.
  • Clover Hill High students will graduate at 2:30 p.m. June 9. The ceremony will replay at 2:30 p.m. June 23.
  • Monacan High students will graduate at 7 p.m. June 9. The ceremony will replay at 7 p.m. June 23.
  • Cosby High students will graduate at 10 a.m. June 10. The ceremony will replay at 10 a.m. June 24.
  • Manchester High students will graduate at 2:30 p.m. June 10. The ceremony will replay at 2:30 p.m. June 24.
  • Matoaca High students will graduate at 7 p.m. June 10. The ceremony will replay at 7 p.m. June 24.
  • James River High students will graduate at 10 a.m. June 11. The ceremony will replay at 10 a.m. June 25.
  • Midlothian High students will graduate at 2 p.m. June 11. The ceremony will replay at 2 p.m. June 25.
  • Meadowbrook High students will graduate at 10 a.m. June 13. The ceremony will replay at 10 a.m. June 27.
  • Bird High students will graduate at 2:30 p.m. June 13. The ceremony will replay at 2:30 p.m. June 27.
  • Carver College and Career Academy students will graduate at 7 p.m. June 13. The ceremony will replay at 7 p.m. June 27.
