Traffic stop leads to hazardous chemicals and meth arrest

CHESTERFIELD – Police have arrested and charged two men who were found to be in possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Aug. 24, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Forest Lake Road and Jefferson Davis Highway. Officers observed evidence of the manufacture of methamphetamine in the suspect vehicle. Virginia State Police and Chesterfield Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, Michael Keith Mays, 30, of the 15000 block of Bradley Bridge Road, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, conspiracy to possess methamphetamine, and maintaining a common nuisance. The passenger, Kenneth Lee Tinsley, 30, of the 14000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, manufacture of methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.
