Bonnie Agnell traveled with the Chesterfield Twinning Association to Gravesend, Kent, England the week of March 19-25 to participate in the commemoration events to acknowledge the 400th anniversary of the death of Pocahontas. Gravesend is where Pocahantas is buried.
There were multiple commemoration events over several days, including a procession through the streets of Gravesend to the church. The theme of the commemoration highlighted how after 400 years Pocahontas is still bringing the people of America and England together.
