Hello, and welcome back to the thankful world of the Dogpound. As you are awareI have been writing furiously to get ahead of my Master’s demands for the month of November. I am in crunch time, since every week in November I have something going on to make it a short week…one week I am going to Ohio to watch my Buckeyes play…another weekend I am attending my oldest daughter’s wedding then, it is Thanksgiving weekend where I am going to my sister’s for a few days. Then depending how things go, I may have to go to court because…

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful holiday world of the Dogpound. I hope everyone in the pack had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving; spending it with all of your loved ones and eating more food that you should at any one meal setting. As for me, in a few days I will be hitting the road to spend Thanksgiving with my sister and her family in Ohio. I cannot remember the last time we were all able to get together for this particular holiday, so I am really looking forward to this visit. Actually, I just got back from…

Hello, and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound. Cold weather is starting to creep up on us, and it is time to prepare for what is coming down the pike. Most of the outside work is done…I washed down the outside of the house…did all of the windows inside and out…painted my door…sprayed home-guard all around the house for bugs..leaving only the final flower bed maintenance, but that needs to be done when it gets a lot colder. Inside, I just needed to fire up the propane fireplaces. The one downstairs started right up…but the one upstairs…

Hello and welcome back to the sad part of the Dogpound. I am typing this letter from my work office because my laptop decided all it wanted to do was crash its memory. It would recalculate…run for a while, and then repeat the process to the point where it was crashing more than it was running. Work is only about 10 minutes from home…so it is no great effort to come in to use my office computer…but my office does lack the amenity of a television or a refrigerator. Sigh! Just shows what lengths I will go through to ensure…

Hello, and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound. As I mentioned in my last article, I was laptopless…and after a brief stay at the repair center, the man there told me that it worked fine for him. He cleaned off some contacts and sent me home to see what would happen. Well, my laptop worked fine for an hour…then it crashed….then it ran for another hour and down it went again. Not a happy camper. I can use my mini iPad, but I am getting a stiff neck from looking down all the time…and typing anything more…

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful birthday world of the Dogpound. Yep…this old dog just had another birthday… last Sunday. Another notch in the old belt…the only problem is that this belt is getting closer to the end than to the beginning. It does make you sit down and reflect on the past; the good ..the bad..the highs, and the lows. So many dreams have come and gone…never thinking back then, I would be where I am today. I am not complaining..the good Lord has been good to me; I am still working…my health is pretty good….not the industrial…

Hello and welcome back to the aggravated world of the Dogpound. We all have our days, and this is just a primer to the rest of this article. I am turning into the Wal-Mart parking lot and there pulling out is a young teen driver…probably barely old enough to drive…she has her window down and she is holding her iPhone halfway out the window…why? Maybe so she could see it better? I don’t know, but she has to make a left hand turn. Have you ever tried to make a turn to the left just using your right hand? Not…

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound. In the last article I was telling you about my front door painting experience. One thing about painting…at least for me…is that I get a lot of paint on other things that I am not supposed to get paint on, and of course that includes me. Because of my tendencies I have some paint clothes I keep just for this occasion. However, I had some trouble locating my paint threads since I had a reorganization of my closets a few months ago and the box they were supposed to…

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful financial world of the Dogpound. I recently decided to apply for an equity loan to consolidate my credit card balances. The bank was nice enough to consider my request, and they listed all the items they would need: my last two years of tax forms, my last check stub, my 401K report, and my reward report. “My award report?” I asked. “What is that?” The loan officer told me that this was my annual Social Security report. Really?! When did they start calling it that? This is not some credit card where you…
