Shamin, which is currently developing a Residence Inn next to Johnston Willis Hospital, plans to develop a 12-acre site east of Interstate 95 adjacent to its Shamin Park, which currently houses three hotels. Plans call for a dual-branded Hampton Inn and Home2Suites, along with ancillary retail amenities that will serve its existing six Chester…

The Chester Chick-fil-A may soon be getting two new drive-through lanes after the Chesterfield Board of Supervisors approved a zoning amendment last week. The request for the business at 2900 West Hundred Road also includes a minor building addition. It involved an 11-foot exception to the 50-foot setback along West Hundred Road. The applicant believes this new design will improve traffic flow at the site, as vehicles back up and sometimes block access to the adjacent U.S. Post Office. A condition of approval requires the business to install landscaping to reduce the visibility of the parking area from Route 10.…

During an April 10 open house, locals got a chance to view what county supervisor Dorothy Jaeckle last week called a $60 million investment in the Jefferson Davis Highway corridor. The…

Dominion Energy recently announced that it retired two units at the Chesterfield Power Station. “We had placed these units into cold reserve last year,” Dominion spokesman Dan Genest said, noting the units were placed into the environmentally-safe shut-down status because they were older, smaller, less efficient units that the utility said could not compete with natural gas and solar alternatives. Retiring the units means they cannot be brought back into service. “We decided to retire them now because we did not foresee the energy market changing,” he said. “There were no implications for employees as a result of the retirements.…
