Will Zerull, Sales Manager for Haley Ford, and Beverly Hamme, Office Manager for Haley Ford, walked into Thomas Dale High School 9th Grade Campus with a big check Monday night. They delivered a $6,000 check to the TDHS Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) for their participation and success in Ford Motor Company “Drive 4UR School” program. Construction of the Dutch Gap Canal began in August, 1864. The majority of the work to remove 67,000 tons of dirt was done by African-American troops under the Union Brig. Gen D. S. Ludlow. Due to naval battles at Trent’s Reach and the regular artillery shelling by Confederate troops, the canal’s completion was delayed until after the end of the Civil War. Less than a year ago, Sarah Maitland found a lovely heartwarming “wreath of hands” that she wanted to have made or casted of four of her five children who were still living at home. Chesterfield County Public Library will host trumpet player, composer/arranger and educator Victor Haskins and the Victor Haskins’ Skein. The group will perform on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Central Library, 9501 Lori Rd. The group will share music from different eras to demonstrate compositions and stylistic developments from various musicians throughout the history of jazz.
