The “State of the County” was the focus last week of a presentation by Chesterfield County Administrator James “Jay” J. L. Stegmaier. At the center of Mr. Stegmaier’s address to the Chesterfield Business Council was Chesterfield’s commitment to being a “First Choice” community. The Kiwanis Club of Chester kicked off their annual Christmas Parade Sunday at 2 p.m. to warm skies and record-breaking crowds. The 60-plus line-up for the two-hour parade from the Chester YMCA to the Chester Village Green included marching bands and walkers, floats, performing units, and vehicles from participating businesses and non-profit groups. On Saturday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m, the Bermuda Baptist Praise Team and the Enon Baptist Praise Team will present a night of Christmas music, under the stars.
