LENNIE WAYNE POND Lennie Pond had been a fixture in Chester for as many years as he was old. A Chester resident who grew up in Ettrick, died Feb. 10, 2016 of complications from cancer at VCU Medical Center in Richmond. He was 75. Lennie always loved to go fast and would race anything that had wheels on it. He was a five-time late model Sportsman State Champion. The Chesterfield County Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded early Friday morning, February 12, at 1:40 a.m. to 9466 Lost Forest Drive for the report of a vehicle fire that was spreading to the house. Fire crews arrived to find a truck in the driveway fully involved that had spread to the siding of the home. Crews worked rapidly to stop the fire from spreading to the rest of the home. Chesterfield Police have arrested a Chesterfield County Public Schools teacher’s aide in relation to the assault of an exceptional education student at Robious Middle School, 2701 Robious Crossing Drive, on Tuesday, Feb. 2. Police were notified of the incident on Friday, Feb. 5, after video of the assault was discovered on another faculty member’s cell phone. The assault was captured on video by another exceptional education student, who happened to be handling the phone at the time of the incident.
