Police have arrested a man who transported two female victims to Chesterfield for the purposes of prostitution. At about 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, police responded to the InTown Suites at 11551 Greenspring Road (near Huguenot Road and Robious Road) for a reported robbery. During the investigation, police learned the 17-year-old robbery victim and an adult female had been brought to Chesterfield County from the Tidewater area for the purposes of forced prostitution. The Chesterfield County Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded Monday morning, Nov. 23, at 9:23 a.m. to the Bellwood Maisonettes, 2500 block of Alfalfa Lane, for the report of an apartment fire. Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the front door and fire from a window. One juvenile was at home at the time of the incident and escaped; however, she went back into the apartment to rescue her dog. The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program is asking for your help to solve an arson case. On Nov. 14, 2015, fire crews and police responded to 325 Courthouse Road and discovered corrugated plastic pipes burning in close proximity to the new Chesterfield County library. The newly constructed library sustained heavy damage due to heat exposure. Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set as no other fire sources were discovered in the area. Joy Wallace can frequently be seen at local fires. Just like any of the male firefighters, Wallace would suit up in the turnout gear (protective clothing) and don the self contained breathing apparatus, which would weigh around 60 pounds or more. Police are searching for a man who robbed the Raceway at 5600 Jefferson Davis Highway at about 6:15 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8. No one was injured during the incident. Police said the business was not yet open when an employee saw a man outside seeking assistance. When the employee acknowledged the man, he displayed a weapon, threatened the employee and forced his way into the business. Once inside, the suspect took cash.
