U.S. Rep. J. Randy Forbes will host a job fair with area businesses in Chesterfield County on Wednesday, Aug. 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lloyd C. Bird High School, according to a press release. The job fair is free and open to all constituents who are interested in learning about available jobs with area businesses.
Local artist Marti Fann will be exhibiting at the Chester Library in August. Recent Works, a collection of mixed media paintings, will be on display Aug. 7-31.
Offers of aid for Chester sisters Cherry, Hanna, Vanessa and Molly Parker are still rolling in, and volunteers organizing the effort hope the help keeps coming.
The Bard would have been thrilled to see one of his most beloved works performed so well. Sycamore Rouge’s large-cast production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at historic Battersea was staged in a perfect rural setting: A grassy clearing circled by trees, with stone pillars and benches cleverly lit, music of drums and a cappella singing by the cast. Even the moon cooperated.
