It was just an idea for a tutoring center, a simple idea really. Get a trailer for the Greenleigh Trailer Park to use to help tutor Hispanic students with English and other school studies.
The Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia (CHSV) will open a new exhibit at the County Museum on Saturday, September 1, entitled, “ Chesterfield County Railroads: From Mule Power to Steam Power.”
The Chesterfield County Fairgrounds is getting its final touches this week, making sure everything will be in working order before nearly 40,000 visitors arrive to a bigger and better showcase of the 99th Annual Chesterfield County Fair. The fun begins Friday, August 24 at 4 p.m. for a nine-day run, closing September 1 at 11 p.m.

Daniel Uphoff has opened a state of the art recording studio in Chester. There’s no question mark behind that statement. Uphoff opened Full Circle Recording about a month ago just west of Chester proper on West Hundred Road.
Three members of American Legion Post 284 in Colonial Heights were honored at the 2012 American Legion Department of Virginia Convention held in Richmond from July 19 to 22. Don Dobrick was named the Post 284, the 11th District, and the Eastern Region’s Legionnaire of the Year.
Last Saturday, Henricus Historical Park expanded a little further with the addition of a gun-post platform like what may have been used by the early settlers to watch over the James for unwelcomed activity in 1611.
