Henricus Dauber Dash attracts hundreds

Last Saturday, the Citie of Henricus, one of America’s oldest settlements, once again hosted The Henricus Dauber Dash. This 5-mile run through the Henricus Historical Park isn’t how most people would spend their weekend getting exercise. Obstacles were spread throughout the course.

New legislation provides grants to beekeepers

On March 30, 2012, Governor McDonnell signed into law legislation from the 2012 session of the Virginia General Assembly that created the Beehive Grant Fund. Grants from the fund, which will be administered by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), will be available after January 1, 2013.

Operation Dry Water to crack down on drunk boating, June 22-24

During the weekend of June 22-24, Virginia Conservation Police with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DGIF) will be conducting intensive patrols on the James River, Appomattox River, Lake Anna, Lake Chesdin, Tidewater area and across the state waterways in an effort to deter boating under the influence (BUI).
