Earl W. Stafford, chairman and chief executive officer of The Stafford Foundation, has donated $100,000 to Virginia State University, a university press release says. Stafford served as the keynote speaker at VSU’s 2010 Fall Commencement.

The Southside Virginia Chapter of Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) will make Roper Memorial Scholarships available for selected high school seniors. These scholarships have been awarded annually since 1997 to applicants from high schools in the Fort Lee and surrounding Southside Virginia areas.
