The Chesterfield Economic Development (CED) has caught some big fish lately. Amazon was a whopper; Capital One, not too shabby with the Northup Grumann Information Center adding to the mix. And that’s just at Meadowville Technology Park in Enon.
The Appomattox River basin has been hit particularly hard by drought. The drought has affected much of the Midwest, as well as a significant amount of Virginia.

Miss Chesterfield County Fair Princess Pageant event had to be moved from the fair stage to the auditorium at L.C. Bird High School due to the number of entries. The first-ever event was held last Saturday and with 40 entries, pageant director, Brenda White, was very pleased with how well the girls performed.
On August 21, nine members of the Kiwanis Club of Chester, along with some of their spouses and six members of their sponsored youth Key Club at Thomas Dale participated in the Chester YMCA’s Bright Beginnings shopping night for youths in need at Target in Chester.
The Chester Family YMCA is the recipient of a $2,000 grant from Target. The grant is in support of the Chester Family YMCA Fun Club at Marguerite Christian Elementary School.
