Redistricting complete, some major changes in state voting precincts

The Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors completed the redistricting of voting precincts during their public meeting last week. Under the direction of Stylian P. “Stel” Parthemos, deputy county attorney, lines were drawn adjusting the number of voters in each magisterial district to within five percent of optimum population of 63,247 per district.

Police have arrested two men in the aftermath of the killing of Devin Hawkins on April 23. Jermon Rasheem Woodson-Jones, 21, was arrested, after turning himself in, on warrants for gang participation and accessory after the fact.

There is a fresh new hot spot for dining in Chester. Sapori Ristorante Italiano is not your average mom-and-pop pizza and pasta eatery. The Amato family, originally of Carini, Sicily, relocated to Chester Village in Festival Park to open Sapori, a modern Italian-American restaurant full to the brim with personality.

Carver to perform Dr. Seuss musical this weekend

Six months after delivering a double-feature performance to a filled auditorium of community members, the theatre group at Carver Middle is once again itching to do their magic on stage; only this spring the group is performing a musical – “Seussical, Jr.,” a dramatized interweaving of numerous books written by the world-acclaimed author Dr. Seuss – Friday May, 6 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 7 at 2 p.m. in the Carver auditorium.
