Local dentist sponsors cookbook for food bank fundraiser

0

When Julie Ferry attended an information session held at the Chesterfield Food Bank with her mission team from Chester United Methodist Church, she was surprised at the volume of food that was being distributed to so many people in Chesterfield. She had no idea that there were so many families that would go hungry without the food bank’s help. So when the opportunity came for her and her husband, David, to sponsor the “Authentic Southern” cookbook, David’s dentistry business jumped at the chance to help. “We decided to contribute to the cookbook project at the Chesterfield Food Bank so that…

by Louis Harrison Monacan 37, L.C. Bird 22 Going into Friday’s game, L.C. Bird had not lost to Monacan since 1998. The Chiefs were able to overpower the Skyhawks on their home turf winning 37-22. There was plenty of star power in the game, as Bird boasts the top running back in the area, C.J. Donaldson, while Monacan has a four-year starter quarterback in Syour Fludd, and perhaps the area’s second best rusher, Korey Bridy. L.C. Bird held the lead in the second quarter as quarterback Marcus Banks took off on a wild 90-yard touchdown run, making the score 14-10.…

Hello, and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound. As I mentioned in my last article, I was laptopless…and after a brief stay at the repair center, the man there told me that it worked fine for him. He cleaned off some contacts and sent me home to see what would happen. Well, my laptop worked fine for an hour…then it crashed….then it ran for another hour and down it went again. Not a happy camper. I can use my mini iPad, but I am getting a stiff neck from looking down all the time…and typing anything more…

She can regularly can be seen standing in front of the Jefferson Davis monument protesting efforts for its removal. Pictured with Roane is chapter head Jim Daniels.

The lights have dimmed in Victory Tabernacle Church, the audience is still; with the flags respectfully held, the Honor Guard walks down the aisle and presents the colors for posting. The Chesterfield Fire and EMS annual award ceremony has begun. Firefighters and EMS personnel each day face unknown challenges, and hazards associated with the work. It is a job that requires dedication, courage, and sometimes placing one’s life on the line to perform a rescue. Behind the scenes, it means endless hours of training, learning new methods of firefighting or advances in medical care as they are made known.  …
