Spring has sprung. With temperatures on the rise, plants are blooming and leaves are coming out. Another thing that comes out are the fertilizers, lime, insecticides, and pesticides. To control weeds, grow greener and thicker lawns and control things like ants, we resort to chemical agents. The problem is that most of us are not chemists. It is important that we read the labels on the stuff that we are using. We want to ensure that we are applying whatever we are using, properly. Higgins is the team’s leader and has pitched well in the circle to a 3.60 ERA. He’s consistent and at times, spectacular. After an intensive 12-month process that launched with a $100,000 proactive grant from The Cameron Foundation last spring, Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR) is releasing its Appomattox River Trail (ART) Master Plan. The document represents the combined efforts of FOLAR and two consulting design companies – Land Planning & Design Associates and AB Design – along with significant input from regional stakeholders and the public.
