Local talent combines forces for symphony gala

In a historic first for the Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, the world of the traditional classical symphony orchestra will merge with the modem combination of electric guitars, bass, vocals, and rhythm sets as the Chester-based variety band, Outside the Wire, joins with the 55-member Petersburg Symphony Orchestra in its 5th annual Cabaret event on Saturday, Feb. 18. Richmond Boys Choir to perform in Chester

In celebration of Black History Month, Second Baptist Church is sponsoring a concert featuring the Richmond Boys Choir. Founded as a collaboration between Theatre IV and the Boys & Girls Club of Richmond.In the fall of 1996 the RBC conducted its first citywide auditions. As a result approximately 25 boys were chosen for membership. T he news reported a fatal fire in a neighboring county tonight. The cause of this fire has not yet been determined. The house was an older home, which tells us some things about construction features. I am going to try to do a breakdown of a house fire in an older structure. No matter when your house was built, it must be properly protected by an adequate number of smoke alarms. Juniors, seniors donate their time for a vision launch event

The Central Virginia Youth Center is having a “vision launch” event Saturday, Feb. 18 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The center is a Christian-based non-profit for local teenagers and is sponsored by the Children’s Home of Virginia Baptist. The group was founded by Ashley Cox (who is also the center’s executive director) and a Youth Leadership Council comprised of juniors and seniors from L.C. Bird High School.
