The L.C. Bird High School Skyhawk Band attended their second competition of the year and brought home two trophies. Band boosters agree that the band keeps getting better and better as the year goes on. They had an overall score of 84.5, just 0.5 from a Superior rating. Their score was fifth out of 22 bands at this competition. The normal five classification groups for this competition were compressed into four groups. The Skyhawk Band was third in the most competitive 2A class. Their 84.5 score would have won the 3A class and third in the 4A class. Both the 3A and 4A class were composed of larger bands. The Skyhawk band will be in competition again on October 27 at the State Band Competition. To see more about the Skyhawk Band, visit their website: http://lcbirdband.org.
