Vehicle crashes, fire keep crews busy last week

Oct. 27 at around 11 a.m., a fire engine from River’s Bend Fire Station was dispatched to Kingston Ave. for a vehicle fire.

Oct. 27 at 10:51 a.m., fire and medical personel were dispatched to Handel Court, and Chippendale Drive for an apartment fire. Personnel arrived on scene to find a motor in a household appliance that had burned up.

Oct. 26 at 9:21 p.m., a motor vehicle crash was reported at Jefferson Davis Highway and Congress Road.

Oct. 25 at 1:08 p.m., a motor vehicle crash was reported at 15700 Woods Edge Rd.

Oct. 25 at 12:31 p.m., a motor vehicle crash was reported at W. Hundred and Old Centralia roads.

Oct. 25 at 12:20 p.m., a motor vehicle crash was reported at 1900 W. Hundred Rd.

Oct. 25 at 5:39 a.m., Virginia State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on the off ramp from Route 288 northbound to Route 10 eastbound in Chesterfield County. The crash occurred when the driver of a 1999 Volvo Flatbed Tractor-Trailer attempted to exit onto Route 10 eastbound and ran off the left side of the roadway overturning onto the driver’s side. The driver, who was wearing his safety belt, suffered minor injuries and was assessed at the scene by emergency medical technicians. The trailer was loaded with approximately 30,000 pounds of bundled trash. Sgt. Thomas Molnar of the Virginia State Police said the driver, Michael A. Chicas-Sanchez, 31, of Bay Shore, NY, was charged with reckless driving-failure to maintain proper control and that speed is considered a factor in the crash.

Oct. 24 at 7:55 p.m., a disabled vehicle was reported at Iron Bridge and Branders Creek roads.

Oct. 24 at 7:22 p.m., a motor vehicle crash was reported at 2300 Ruffin Mill Rd.

Oct. 24 at 9:22 a.m., a motor vehicle crash was reported at 6900 Mimms Dr.

Oct. 24 at 9:04 a.m., a motor vehicle crash was reported at 4605 Mason Dale Ct.

Oct. 24 at 8:18 a.m., a motor vehicle crash was reported at 2307 W. Hundred Road

Oct. 23 at 4:14 p.m., a motor vehicle crash was reported at Rock Hill and W. Hundred roads
