Christmas Mother holds benefit auction

The Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Christmas Mother Committee will host its sixth annual fundraiser--a silent and live auction at the Cultural Center of India, 6641 Ironbridge Parkway, Chester, on Saturday, November 10. The event, beginning at 6 p.m., will be an evening of music, food, and a silent and live auction.

This special evening will include music by the Jack Winn-TET, heavy hors d’oeuvres, beverages and an opportunity to purchase unique items. The celebrity auctioneer will be Wayne Covil of WTVR, Channel 6 news.

There will be over 60 items to be auctioned, including vacation stays, sport packages, and special dinners.  Included is a very unique donation—the hood of the car driven by Kyle Busch at RIR on Sept. 10, 2011 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11. The red, white, and blue hood is autographed by Busch.

Individual tickets for the evening are $40 per person. No tickets sold at the door.

If you wish to purchase tickets, please contact the event coordinator, Barbara Chapman, at 706-4644. All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Christmas Mother program.

Organized in 1972 by a group of dedicated volunteers, the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Christmas Mother is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit, charitable organization established for the sole purpose of offering assistance during the holiday season to those who are less fortunate. In 2011, the program provided over 1600 families in our community with holiday assistance.
