A few years ago Birkdale and Brandermill golf clubs merged, Both now owned by Acumen Golf. Golfers can enjoy memberships at both clubs for one price. Meadowbrook Country Club and Lake Chesdin Golf Club are pursuing a somewhat similar path.
Calling it a club unification, the Meadowbrook and Chesdin club are located on opposite sides of Chesterfield. According to Richmond’s BizSense.com, “The deal is being led by a group of investors made up of members of both clubs, who are pooling their money to purchase the Lake Chesdin club from its Canadian owner, and eventually merge it into Meadowbrook.”
Members could invest into the new entity, Meadowbrook-Chesdin LLC, and get membership to both clubs. Meadowbrook is a member-owned club and the Lake Chesdin course is owned by Clublink, which owns a number of golf courses.
Scott Camp, who developed the Chesdin Landing subdivision, was quoted in the Bizsense piece saying that “it would be a great combination.”
Meadowbrook is a full-service club offering dining, catering, weddings in its Gillett garden, tennis and swimming. The Chesdin Golf Club offers members the use of the clubhouse for dinner or a private celebration of birthday parties, bridal showers and receptions at the clubhouse or pavilion.
