The lone score of the contest came in the third quarter as Matoaca running back Jordan Reyes ran for a 40-yard touchdown. A ceremony was held for assistant coach Richard Stegemerten who passed away last Monday after suffering a heart attack. The win improved Matoaca to 4-5 overall and 3-3 in the Central District. They will finish the season with a tough match-up on the road at Meadowbrook this Friday with a 7 p.m. kick-off.

The Monarchs improved to 8-1 overall and 6-0 in the Central District with a blowout victory of a winless Colonial Heights team. Meadowbrook dominated the contest from opening kick-off putting up 28 points in the first quarter on the way to a 56-0 shutout victory.
Gerard Johnson was 5-10 passing for 110 yards, four touchdowns and added another touchdown on the ground. Reserve running back Isaiah Adebiyi had a career day gaining 55 yards but scoring three touchdowns- two on the ground and one through the air.
With the win and a victory over Dinwiddie this season, the Monarchs have clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2008. They will look to finish the regular district season undefeated against Matoaca this Friday, senior night for Meadowbrook.
