Thieves out for copper

The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program needs your help to identify suspects involved in a series of thefts.

Copper theft is a reoccurring problem that continues to be a thorn in the side of law enforcement agencies and property owners. Since Nov. 1, 2012, copper thefts have increased throughout Chesterfield County. The majority of the cases involve the theft of copper pipes, copper wires and copper HVAC parts from properties that are vacant, unoccupied or foreclosed upon. Most of the thefts happened during the evening hours.
