Max has a little of this and that

Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound.  Just when you think things are getting back to normal we find new ways to whip things into turmoil.  For example…there was lip-sync singing at the Presidential swearing in and you would have thought it was a national secret breach as covered by Main Stream Media; did Beyonce lip-sync the National Anthem or not!?  Major Headlines all over the Internet.  My response, as uttered by Hillary Clinton…”What difference does it make?”  Well, we have learned from a good source that there was one good thing that came from this issue…VP Joe Biden is now required by the President to lip-sync all of his speeches. No lie!  Of course we have the pre-mentioned statement made by Hillary when questioned about the events that resulted in the deaths of four Americans in Libya and when she knew it was a terrorist attack and not a video attack….”What difference does it make?!”  We in the Dogpound are starting to think this is the new mantra for the government; hey, don’t question us…what difference will it make?   We make the rules…just be quiet and don’t bother us with any of your concerns, we...the government…know what is best for you.  Which leads us to our last entry...our government and health reform.  If you remember back a year or so ago we were told that we would know what was in ObamaCare  once it was passed by Congress.  Well, I came across an interesting article the other day…now you smokers better pay attention.  The new health reform allows insurance companies to charge smokers up to 50 percent higher premiums starting January 1. read that right;  for a 60 year old smoker, that penalty could wind up costing them over $5,000 on top …I repeat …on top of their insurance premium.  It gets better….the law allows insurers to charge older smoking adults  up to three times as much as their younger  customers, and government  tax credits cannot be used to offset the cost of penalties for smokers. [Note...Nearly 1 out of 5 adults in this country still smokes.]  I guess you might think it strange that some, some who really need insurance,  might actually be turned away due to the high financial barriers placed by the same government that was so intent in providing everyone insurance in the first place.  But I guess the new mantra applies…“What difference will it make?”

“It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.”

Two entrepreneurs at the local networking event tried to make small talk.  “Hey, do you believe in survival of the fittest?” one asked.  “ I don’t believe in the survival of anybody,” the other replied, “I am an undertaker.”

Got to run.  As always be good, play safe, and remember “what does it matter.”
