The Next Level: Harper, Sitton, Walton

Idaho Stampede, Portland Trail Blazers affiliate

After a standout career at the University of Richmond, Harper was drafted by Cleveland in the second round of the 2011 NBA draft and traded to Orlando. The former Monarch appeared in 14 games for the Magic before being waived. Harper was signed by Portland and is now playing for the NBDL’s Idaho Stampede. Mostly playing a reserve role this season, Harper has averaged 11 points and six rebounds per game while trying to work his way back to the league.

BARBARA SITTON
L.C. Bird High School
Senior at Davidson University

The former L.C. Bird standout is now the Davidson Wildcats starting point guard. At Bird, she left as the all-time leader in assists with 566, and was 2nd all-time in steals with 389. As a junior in college she started all 32 games and put up well-rounded numbers, averaging seven points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals per game. As a senior this year, she’s putting up similar numbers, and playing great defense. As of press time, Davidson is enjoying a great season as they are 17-9 overall and 14-2 in the Southern Conference.

PORCHA WALTON
L.C. Bird High School
Freshman at St. Augustine University

Walton has made an early impact at St. Augustine University, starting 23 of 24 games thus far as a freshman. The former Skyhawk is currently averaging 10 points and three assists per contest for the Falcons. Walton enjoyed an excellent senior season at Bird last year averaging 11 points, five assists and three steals per game. She finished ranked 5th all-time at Bird in assists.
