The Next Level: Lauretano, Morris, Zebrowski

Freshman at Virginia Tech
Former Knights standout Dan Lauretano played in all 20 of the Hokies’ games last season, making 16 starts as a freshman. As a first year player he ranked second on the team in goals and third on the team in total points (goals plus assists). In addition to making his presence felt on the field as a freshman, Lauretano was named to the All-ACC Academic team on March 1.

Ciarra Morris, Track & Field
Meadowbrook High School
Junior at James Madison University
The former Meadowbrook standout received a full ride to James Madison University, where she does sprints and hurdles for the Dukes. Recently, Morris set two personal bests with a 25.56 second 200-meter dash at the Liberty Quad on February 8 and a time of 56.68 seconds in the 400-meter dash at the Virginia Tech Challenge on February 16. Morris also has the 3rd best time in JMU history in the 300-meter dash at 40.02 seconds, set last season. Morris was chosen as a member of the 2012 Colonial Athletic Association track and field champions team.

Allyssa Zebrowski, Softball
Matoaca High School
Junior at UVA Wise
After being an athletic and academic standout at Matoaca, finishing with a 4.2 GPA, Zebrowski attends college at UVA Wise, where she is now the starting shortstop. As of press time, Zebrowski is hitting .302 and is tied for second on the team with 16 runs batted in. So far this season, UVA Wise is 10-5 overall and 3-1 in the Mid-South Conference. On March 13, Zebrowski had a great game, going 1-3 with three RBI, a walk and a run scored against Southern Virginia as UVA Wise was victorious 13-5.
