Area residents honored at Virginia Tech commencement

The following Virginia Tech students were among those honored at the university’s fall commencement ceremony held Dec. 21, 2012, in Cassell Coliseum.

Approximately 1,314 bachelor’s and associates degree candidates, along with their families and friends, attended the on-campus ceremony presided by Virginia Tech President Charles W. Steger. The University Commencement Ceremony keynote address was given by Annie Hesp, an instructor of Spanish in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

Shashwat Dave
Dave received a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the College of Engineering.

Jordan Goldston
Goldston received a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre arts from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

Michael Sims
Sims received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree in mechanical engineering from the College of Engineering.

Ryan Borden
Borden received a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in history from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

Wesley Strickland
Strickland received a Bachelor of Science in Business degree in finance from the Pamplin College of Business.

Priyank Shah
Shah received a Bachelor of Science in Business degree in finance from the Pamplin College of Business.

Aryn Daugherty
Daugherty received a Bachelor of Science degree in human nutrition, foods and exercise from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
