Help Chester Family YMCA raise $178,000

In 2009, more than $147,000 was raised by the community to help the Chester Family YMCA meet the needs of local people. Numerous families, kids and older active adults grew in spirit, mind and body because of the generosity of the community.

The 2010 Planting Seeds of Hope Annual Giving Campaign in now under way. Nicole Jordan of Apartment Stuffers is leading this year’s campaign with a goal of $178,000. “The Chester Y is hoping to do great things with the money raised this year but we need the community support,” Jordan says in a press release.  Rounding out this year’s leadership is Nancy Briggs, Lisa Mabry and Mary Jo Dodson.

By giving a gift to the Chester YMCA, residents help build strong kids, strong families and strong communities for Chester. The money raised in Chester is kept in Chester to help meet the community’s needs. Area residents can be a part of this great mission, too. This year, there is a tree displayed in the YMCA and each time a gift is given, the tree will grow.

This year, the YMCA is  working hard to Send Kids to Camp. The Send a Kid to Camp campaign will run May 3 through May 31. Sponsor a child today!
