Chester Lions to hold White Cane May 3, 4

Members of the Chester Lions Club will be participating with their White Cane Days event on Friday and Saturday, May 3-4 at Walmart and Kroger in Chester. White Cane Days is a semi-annual fund raiser to help the community with the sight conservation needs, primarily providing eye exams and glasses for the needy.

The members of the Chester Lions will be at the two mentioned sites on Friday and Saturday, May 3-4 to accept contributions to this cause and ask contributors to wear one of the traditional white canes as provided by a Lion member.  The members will also be collecting old prescription glasses that may be given to any Lion working the White Cane Days.  These glasses help provide many dollars for sight projects.  Do not throw them away, the gift of sight means so much.

The goal of the White Cane Days is $3500. With your help the Chester Lions Club can meet this goal.

The Chester Lions Club in the past has been the proud sponsor of a “Leader Dog” ( seeing eye dog for a blind person).  If you know of anyone in need, please let any Chester Lions Club member  know of this caring need.
