To the Editor:
Regarding the Chesterfield BOS effort to eliminate or reduce the proffer fees for home builders, I was struck this week by a possible connection between your news article and your opinion piece – one on the proffer system, and the other on the proposed new meals tax. Is there a connection? Both are revenue sources for the County. Make the developers happy. Get rid of a visible tax that offends the money guys, and place a largely invisible tax on the backs of folks with less money who pay less attention. It’s beautiful.
