The Next Level: Chamberlin, Diamond, Topping

Nathan Chamberlin, Baseball
Matoaca High School
Junior at Hampden Sydney College
Chamberlin started his baseball career at Virginia Wesleyan before transferring to Hampden Sydney as a junior. The former Matoaca standout catch made immediate impact for the Tigers in the 2013 season, playing in 32 out of the team’s 41 games. Chamberlin has hit .279 with 24 hits, 13 RBIs and scored eight runs splitting time between third base and DH. His play assisted Hampden Sydney to a 23-17 overall record this season.

Brandon Diamond, Baseball
Thomas Dale High School
Sophomore at Virginia Military Institute
During his time at Thomas Dale, Diamond was a four-time All-Academic First Team Central District honoree and a three time First-Team All-Academic Region honoree. In addition to his accolades in the classroom, he also held a strong presence as a baseball player and a wrestler for the Knights. Diamond played in a reserve role this season for the Keydets, logging time in 23 games while collecting two hits and two RBIs.

Will Topping, Soccer
Matoaca High School
Junior at Randolph Macon College
The junior midfielder was a part of a Yellow Jackets team that had its growing pains in the 2012 season. Topping played in a career high 14 games this season for Randolph Macon and made his first career start at forward, attempting three shots on goal on the season. The former Matoaca standout is looking to have a productive senior season and to contribute to a Yellow Jackets team that will strive to improve in 2013. Davis Topping, Will’s younger brother, currently plays soccer for Matoaca.
