Chester Lions raise $2,800 for sight conservation

Lion Mark Waitkus and his daughter, Riley are pictured at Kroger during the recent fund raiser for sight conservation programs in the local area.

Chester Lions Club President, Gregory Bergeret expressed the Club’s appreciation of the entire community for its support during the many years.  A special thanks to Kroger and Walmart for their support and the news coverage given by the Village News.

Lion Doug Hupp was the club coordinator of the event and Lions James Briggs and Merlin Mitchell were the co-chair persons.  Briggs stated the total funds raised were $2,800.  All of these funds stay in our community and are used for those in need of eye exams, eye glasses, and other sight conservation projects.  The entire Club participated in this effort along with the help of friends and family.
