The Next Level: Ford-Holland, Lauretano, Ramsey

Sophomore at Auburn University
Ford-Holland’s high school track career was a storied one, and it ended on a high note as the All-American captured the 2011 State Indoor and Outdoor Championship for the triple jump. Holland-Ford holds the record at Thomas Dale for the triple jump, long jump, 100m, 55m, 60m, 4x100m and 4x200m. All of these accomplishments and great academics landed the standout at Auburn University. In the 2012 indoor season, she finished 14th in the SEC championship in the triple jump and in the outdoor season, she finished 15th. The sophomore finished fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 40-2.25 at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational and posted in season best mark of 17-11.75 in the long jump in the 2012 season. Ford-Holland is majoring in hospitality management.

Vittorio Lauretano, Soccer
Thomas Dale High School
Junior at Radford University
The older brother of Virginia Tech standout Dan Lauretano, Vittorio missed this season with a torn ACL for the Highlanders and is looking to bounce back this fall as a redshirt junior. During his career at Thomas Dale, he was a part of four straight district championship winners and in his sophomore season, the Knights won the Central Region. As a freshman in 2010 at Radford, Lauretano recorded his first assist in a 5-1 Radford victory over Presbyterian. In 2011, he scored his first goal against St. Bonaventure as the Highlanders defeated the Bonnies 5-1.

Corey Ramsey, Baseball
Matoaca High School
Junior at Longwood University
The former Warriors pitcher spent the majority of his junior season sidelined by a slight tear in his rotator cuff. Ramsey was a standout during his high school career, starting games in three different regional tournaments for the Warriors and leading Matoaca to the state quarterfinals in 2010. As a freshman at Longwood, the six foot three inch righty was the Lancer’s rookie of the year as a freshman starting ten games, pitching to a 6-3 record with a 3.95 ERA. After battling shoulder issues as a sophomore, Ramsey pitched a game into his junior season before being shelved. Redshirted for the 2013 season, the junior will look to bounce back in 2014. Ramsey is majoring in kinesiology with a concentration in exercise science.
