River’s Bend links teeters on the brink

River’s Bend Golf Club is on the verge of auction this month due to back taxes owed to Chesterfield County.

The property is assessed at $1.8 million and county tax records indicate the River’s Bend links are behind approximately $94,700 in property taxes over about three years.

According to Richmond’s BizSense online magazine, (www.bizsense.com) “The owner, Ronnie Kelley, said he’s working on a plan with a group of investors to pay the county what it’s owed.”

Chesterfield is looking for a judgment to have the property sold for its back taxes.

The River’s Bend course was built in 1990 and was part of the amenities offered by the River’s Bend community that surrounds the 18-hole course. The 177-acre is laid out among some of the homes at River’s Bend and has been a calling card for some homeowners who live in the development.

River’s Bend Golf Club is still offering memberships.
