Police seek attempted abduction suspect

Police are investigating an attempted abduction of a child that occurred on Thursday, Aug. 1.

At about 6 p.m. on Thursday, police were called to the 2500 block of Larryvale Drive, in the Greenleigh neighborhood, for a report of an attempted abduction. The victim, a 7-year-old female, was outside her residence when she was approached by an unknown man. The man grabbed her arm and began to pull her away, but the victim was able break free and run home. The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a slender build. He had very short or shaved black hair and a mustache. He was wearing a dark-colored T-shirt, blue jeans, gray tennis shoes with blue stripes, a backpack and sunglasses with dark-colored frames.
