Family man robs eyeglass frames from retailer

This week, the Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program needs your help to solve two cases involving the theft of eyeglass frames.

On July 14, a black male pushing a stroller and in the company of two young children entered LensCrafters in Chesterfield Towne Center. Clerks at the store observed the man move trays of eyeglass frames from one side of the store to the next, and when the trays returned to their original locations they were empty. He managed to get away with 26 high-end frames, including RayBan, Tiffany, Prada, Polo, Vogue and Burberry frames.

As officers were investigating that theft, they discovered that the same male suspect was involved with a similar theft from Pearle Vision Express in the same mall. From Pearle Vision Express, the thief took four Prada frames; he was again with the small children.

Sadly, the store management of LensCrafters recognized the children, and said that earlier in the year they were with a female who also stole frames from their store.

Security footage shows a black male in his 50s. He was wearing an oversized, white polo-style shirt with black stripes and a black ball cap with a white logo on it. Pictures of the suspect can be seen on the Crime of the Week page of
