Police investigate officer involved shooting

Chesterfield Police are investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 28 in the 10400 block of Oakside Drive.

Officers responded to the residence to investigate a call for a domestic incident with a weapon involved. Upon arrival, officers were able to assist several family members in exiting the residence, leaving the male suspect inside. The suspect was observed walking around the inside of the residence with what appeared to be a long gun of some type. The suspect later came out of the residence and engaged the officers, who then fired at and wounded the suspect. The suspect was transported to VCU Medical Center.

The suspect has been identified as Michael Killough, 47, of the 10400 block of Oakside Drive, in Chesterfield, Virginia. He is currently in police custody at VCU Medical Center, where he is receiving treatment. Once he is medically cleared, Killough will be charged in relation to the incident.

Police continue their investigation into this incident. No officers were injured.
