Police take back 1,029 pounds of unused medication

The Chesterfield County Police Department, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration, SAFE, and Bon Secours St. Francis Watkins Centre, helped residents safely dispose of more than 1,000 pounds of expired and unneeded prescription and over-the-counter drugs on Saturday, April 26.

County police hosted a Medication Take-Back event with the DEA at Bon Secours St. Francis Watkins Centre on Saturday, April 26. During the four-hour event, police, DEA agents and Bon Secours volunteers collected 1,029 pounds of unused, unwanted and potentially harmful drugs. A total of 416 participants dropped off medications.
