The Next Level: Lockett, Jordan, Lodge

Matoaca High School
Freshman at Randolph-Macon College

After a great career at Matoaca Lockett, one of the team’s offensive threats, settled right into a platoon/starting role with the Yellow Jackets at third base. On the season, she hit .275 with a home run and seven RBI. Randolph-Macon finished the season 26-12 with a 12-8 record in the ODAC. During her senior year, she hit .297 with 15 RBI, a figure that was good for second on the team.

Sophomore at Virginia State University

Jordan’s sophomore season was successful for both himself and Virginia State. The Trojans finished with a 25-17 record as Jordan roamed the outfield and pitched. The former Warrior put up solid numbers across the board in all categories, hitting .322 with seven doubles, a home run, 21 RBI and swiping 12 bags. On the mound he compiled a 5-3 record with a 4.97 ERA striking out 43 batters. At Matoaca, he earned All-Central District second team honors for his pitching.

Sophomore at Randolph-Macon College

At Matoaca, Lodge was a performer, garnering Team MVP honors his senior season. He helped Matoaca earn a regional berth in 2012 and a Central District Championship in 2011. Lodge was also academically sound, a member of the National Honors Society. The biology major enjoyed a standout year for the Yellow Jackets, as part of a potent offense in the ODAC. The shortstop hit .261 with four home runs (third on the team) and 22 RBI. He earned a spot on the team of the week hitting .417 with four doubles and a .647 slugging percentage from February 24- March 2.
