Chesterfield Dems invite public to meeting, FeedMore food drive

Chesterfield County Democratic Committee Meeting and Food Drive to Benefit FeedMore will be held Wednesday, June 4 at Falling Creek Middle School- light refreshments and social at 6:45, program at 7 p.m.

The program will be a Legislative Update and Overview of the 2014 General Assembly Session with special guests, Delegate Rosalyn Dance and Delegate Delores McQuinn, The meeting will be held in the auditorium of Falling Creek Middle School at 4724 Hopkins Rd.   This event is free and open to the public.

CCDC is also hosting a Food Drive to Benefit FeedMore in Memory of a Friend, Erlene Wiese, and welcomes any donation of non-perishable food items at this meeting.

FeedMore nourishes the hungry here in Chesterfield and Central Virginia by providing food through their Food Distribution Center, meals and snacks to children through the Kids Cafe, Summer Feeding Service and Back Pack Programs, meals to the home bound and elderly through Meals on Wheels deliveries, and they assist with food referrals and SNAP applications.

FeedMore is in particular need of the following items: Peanut butter, canned fish and meats; canned and dried beans; canned fruits and vegetables; Hot and cold cereals and pasta and rice. If you can bring any of these items to their  June meeting, they are particularly appreciated.

For those who prefer to make a tax-deductible, monetary donation, please note that each dollar will provide five meals. Checks should be made payable to “FeedMore” and note CCDC/Erlene Wiese in the memo section. Online donations can be made at; please note CCDC/Erlene Wiese under the “credit this food drive” so we can track the total donations at the end of our drive.
