Lisa Coffey, of Chester, has joined Da Capo Virginia as an instructor offering private lessons in trumpet and other brass instruments, according to information from the organization. Coffey earned a bachelor’s degree in music education at Virginia Tech and a master’s of education in administration and supervision from Virginia State University. She previously taught elementary music for Chesterfield County Public Schools and was named “Teacher of the Year” in 1999. Da Capo Virginia offers musical training in a community-based, passion-driven approach via choruses, private instruction, coaching, small ensembles and public performances in the Richmond region and beyond.
