Local artist Marti Fann will be exhibiting at the Chester Library in August. Recent Works, a collection of mixed media paintings, will be on display Aug. 7-31.
Fann’s opening reception will be held in the Maud Hurt meeting room on Saturday, Aug. 7, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is sponsored by the Chesterfield Center for the Arts Foundation. She is the president of the Chester Artists Association.
Fann, a native of northwest Pennsylvania, has lived in Chesterfield for the last 23 years, according to her website, www.martifann.com. She has also lived and traveled in the southwest, as well as studied with local artists there, the site says.
“I have always loved the creative process,” she says on her site. “I want the painting to evolve from a clean white surface to a well-designed painting. … My primary purpose of painting is to evoke feelings and emotions. I want to do this through texture, color, shape and good design.
“If I am successful, you can let yourself go and let the energy and spirit of the painting carry you on an exciting journey.”
More information about Fann is available on her website.
